Volunteering
An Invitation To Join Our Team
At Grampian Hospital Radio and Radio RACH, we are always on the lookout for more volunteers to help keep our
service going.
There is more to Hospital Radio than presenting shows and members are expected to get involved in all aspects of
the organisation.
Request Collecting
We
pride
ourselves
in
the
personal
service
that
we
provide
to patients.
Request
collectors
provide
the
"public
face"
of
both
GHR
and
Radio
Rainbow,
speaking
to
patients
and
finding
out
what music they would like to hear.
They
also
help
to
raise
awareness
of
our
service
around
the
wards,
and
can
sometimes
be
the
only
visitor
the
patient
has that day.
Presenting
There
is
more
to
presenting
then
playing
a
couple
of
records.
All
shows
must
be
researched
and
prepared
for.
This
may
involve
finding
out
background
information
for
specialist
shows or looking out requests.
Before
being
allowed
to
present
shows
on
their
own,
members
receive
studio
training
so
they
are
competent
in
using the studio equipment
Fundraising
Without fundraising, we would not exist.
All
members,
new
and
old,
are
expected
to
assist
with
fundraising.
You
can
find
out
further
information
about
our
fundraising
activities on our fundraising page.
Technical
Our
technical
team
ensure
that
our
studio
equipment
is
always
in
working
order,
so
that
we
can
provide
the
best
service possible to our patients.
From
helping
to
fix
or
install
equipment
to
ensuring
that
our
studios
are
always
tidy,
members
are
always
welcome
to assist with technical activities.
Further Information
Members
initially
join
us
for
a
3-month
probationary
period,
which
allows
new
members
to
familiarise
themselves
with
the
various
aspects of our organisation.
If
you
are
interested
in
applying
for
membership,
then
contact
us,
and
we'll
arrange
for
you
to
receive
a
tour
of
our
studios
and
give
you further information.
