Grampian Hospital Radio Celebrates Multiple Wins at National Broadcasting Awards
The annual Hospital Broadcasting Conference and Awards took place in Bolton at the weekend, with members of the Grampian Hospital Radio team in attendance to represent the station.
Grampian Hospital Radio was nominated in eight award categories and is delighted to announce success in five of them.
The station received Silver for Station of the Year, as well as Silver in the Special Event category for its coverage of the Tall Ships Race in Aberdeen.
Individual presenters were also recognised for their outstanding contributions. Kay Drummond was awarded Gold for Presenter of the Year, while John Graham received Silver for Male Presenter of the Year.
In addition, Grampian Hospital Radio was honoured with Moment of the Year for The Ken McEwen Interview on Kay Drummond’s programme.
Chairman Neil Fraser praised the team’s achievements, saying:
“Well done to everyone involved. This recognition is a fitting tribute to the tremendous amount of hard work contributed by all — our presenters, request collectors, fundraisers, and everyone else connected with Grampian Hospital Radio.”
